Chirp And Cookie

Know Their Stories

We would like to home Chirp and Cookie together as they have truly bonded. With Chirp immediately taking on the role of big brother and protector of cookie. After all chirp has been through it would be heartbreaking to take someone else away from him. Before Cookie arrived with us Chirp would cry day and night, now he is so happy to have his little companion. So here we will tell you their stories and how they came together.

Chirp came into our recovery centre unable to walk after being run over. He was found by one of our colony feeders and taken for treatment. It was discovered he had a broken pelvis. He also had severe diarrhea, anemia and dehydration. We tried him on so many different foods until we eventually found one that stopped his diarrhoea. He was then able to start beating his other health issues. Since he has recovered from his broken pelvis and was able to walk again we found he also had a problem with one of his back legs. We have had him seen by the trauma specialist who told us its the joint that has been damaged and he walks a little strange. It does seem to be improving day by day but it will need to be monitored and checked over time. Because of this he will not be able to leave the home because it would put him in a dangerous position if he can't escape from a dangerous situation. But he would love a secure garden (that he cant escape from) to lounge about in.

Chirp is a lovely boy, he talks all the time, we thought he sounded like a crow, hence the name chirp. He has been slowly learning to play thanks to Cookie, which is great to see him come out of himself and be a normal cat.

Cookie came to us as a very small little girl after sterilization. She immediately attached herself to Chirp. Cookie is super friendly to human and animals. So much so it would be dangerous for her to go back on the streets as she has no self preservation against dangers on the streets. Being so young she is very playful and is teaching Chirp how to have fun and enjoy life.

More Information About Cookie And Chirp

When it comes to new situations, Cookie throws herself at it with an adventurous spirit while Chirp approaches cautiously to make sure it is safe for her with the attitude of a caring and protective big brother. Even so, he is confident and always ready to play or receive the full attention of anyone around him. He is a big boy, but he is very aware of his size and strength, so he is careful not to use his full strength with the smaller Cookie.

Both cats have fun, playful, loving personalities that can brighten anyone's day. They're always ready to receive love and attention from any human they meet. Chirp certainly makes his presence known with his lovable chirping noises.
